I like to develop my skills so I watch pluralsight tutorials frequently. Below are some of the courses I watched with a brief description of what I learned in the course.
C# has consistently been one of the top three programming languages to learn as it’s used widely throughout the industry. I learned about the syntax of the C# language and developed an understanding of fundamental programming concepts for any platform. Also I learned how to solve problems using object-oriented programming techniques.
UX DESIGN FOR GRAPHIC DESIGNERS
I learned how UX Designer’s fit into the overall development process in an agile environment. The course showed different techniques on how to incorporate research into my work by speaking to key stakeholders, discussing the website or app ,and designing tests for the project.
UNDERSTANDING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LOGO, IDENTITY, AND BRAND
Understanding the relationship between a logo, an identity and branding is critical for a graphic designer. In this course I learned the relationship and differences between a logo, an identity and a brand. I learned how to create a creative brief, sketch concepts , and establish a style guide or graphics standards manual for potential clients.
CREATING A BRAND STYLE GUIDE
In this course I developed an understanding of branding and learned the different elements it takes to create a brand style guide for a client. I learned to establish consistent brand colors across all media, communicate logo uses, define brand typography, and utilize photography and video in a brand. I have a better understanding of the importance of various brand communication elements, how to solidify the desired uses of those elements, and strategies to set down concise rules to ensure control and consistency of brand element usage and visual representation.
